ChopSticks

“Chop Sticks” is a very funny, humorous story that is written by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, and illustrated by Scott Magoon. The story started off with two chopsticks who loved and did everything together. The two chopsticks went on walks together, ate together, go on adventures together, well you get the point they did everything together, it was like they were stuck together. Until one very unfortunate day, one of the chopsticks snapped will trying to perform a fancy trick and accidentally snapped. The chopstick was immediately sent to the hospital, and with the help of some great doctors, they were able to keep him alive. The other chopstick was so worried he would stand by him for days making sure he was okay. Until one day the injured chopstick said to go on an adventure and tell me your story when you get back. So he did and had so much fun and by the time he got back the other chopstick was fully healed up and they celebrated and had a fun night. The overall message of this story is to go adventure on your own and have fun, this book was very funny and had lots of jokes, and I really enjoyed listening to this amazing book. I would say that this book is written for ages 7-12 because if you are younger you will not understand the humour and if you are older you will think that the humour is kind of childish.

Spoon

The “spoon” is a very interesting story written by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and illustrated by Scott Magoon. The story/book is about a Spoon who wished he was other appliances like fork and knives. The story starts off as the spoon explaining all of his different family members and how they’re all different in some way. One night the spoons grandma was telling him a bedtime story about how once when she was young she ran off with a dish. The next day Spoon was thinking about all the good things about being a knife or a fork and wished that he could dig into a cake or cut stuff. But when Spoon wasn’t listening to his friends say I wish I was Spoon has so nice and everyone takes me so serious, he’s so easy going.  That same evening the Spoons mother was explaining how lucky you are to be a spoon and how I don’t think you understand how grateful you should be about being a spoon, then the Spoon realized all the good things about being a spoon you get to dive into a bowl of ice cream or cereal and you also get to relax in a nice warm cup of tea. I think that this book is written for ages 5 to 15 because it shares a really important message. The message is how grateful you should be about how lucky you are to be able to go to school have a roof over your head because there are kids all around the world who would die to be in your situation.

Alfred Nobel The Man Behind The Peace Tree

“Alfred Nobel The Man Behind The Peace Tree” illustrated by Zachary Pullen and the author is Kathy-Jo Wargin.

This book is about four brothers who discovered a substance called nitroglycerin A.K.A dynamite, who forever changed the brothers life’s in good and bad ways. This story starts of when the brothers are in their lab experimenting different ways nitroglycerin can be used and contained. When one day they figure out that when you mix gunpowder and nitroglycerin it can be used as an explosive to be used on constructive sites. But one day there was an explosion that was caused by the nitroglycerin substance which unfortunately killed Alfred’s brother Emil. Alfred’s was devastated and wanted to make nitroglycerin safer to be used so he discovered that when you mix sand and nitroglycerin it can moire easily be contained and be used safer on construction sites. But one day Alfred’s brother Ludvig wakes up to himself in the newspaper saying that he passed away which was very strange and this is also known as mistaken obituary. But after a while the brothers become well known across Europe and soon become one of the family’s across the continent/Europe. After Alfred passed away in his home in France and was berried in Sweden. Alfred shared his fortune with his family. And also Alfred created the Nobel prizes when he died to spread his wealth among the people who impacted Earth in a good way. I think that this book was created for ages 10-14 because there are some said parts in the story that younger-kids wouldn’t understand and young kids wouldn’t understand the overall message. All in conclusion this story shares a very imported message and shares the life of Alfred and his discovery and how it changed his and his brother life’s forever.

I Used To Be A Fish

“I used to be a fish” is an amazing book about a boy using his imagination that is written and illustrated by, Tom Sullivan. This book is about a boy who starts off as fish who wants to explore on land so the fish grows some legs so it can walk. But then the fish realizes there are predators on land so it grows some fur to camouflage. But then he starts getting smarter and becoming more into a mammal and starts to turn into a monkey. But after a while, he starts getting bored of eating bananas and starts hunting larger animals. Then he starts building huts and then more advanced structures and homes and soon he is living in a highly advanced city. After a while, he decides he wants to fly so he becomes a superhero who is able to fly but for now he is just jumping on his bed. I think that this book is for ages from 5-12 because it’s more of a child book theme because of a boy using his imagination to turn into other things, but then it kinda relates to science where you learn about early human ancestors changing and adapting over time.
