Do cell phones belong in school, the article stats the different effects and defects of using cell phones in school, and shows how different schools and environments are dealing with cell phones in school. I feel like the article is quite repetitive and continuously states the same thing over an over again.

 

  1.  The benefits of having a cell phone are being able to emergency contact a parent, you can use your phone for photography like our class did this year, you can use it as a math device if you don’t have a calculator you can use your phone. The negative parts are some students can be using their device in a non-responsible way going on social media etc. If I was a teacher I would be okay with kids having their phone at school as long as the teacher gives them permission to use it.
  2. I don’t know that much about what the future for cell phones will be I feel like it will be a lot easier to access your device and social media like now there are smartwatches were the look like a watch but you can also go on social media.

After The Fall: How Humpty Dumpty Got Back Up Again is a very meaningful story about facing your past and fear, written and illustrated by Dan Santat. The story starts off with Humpty Dumpty climbing up a wall to see the beautiful birds and the beautiful city admiring the review and enjoying life. Until one day Humpty Dumpty climbed up the wall to See the birds and the city again until he had an accident and slipped of he was rushed to emergency and luckily he was able to be fully fixed expect some parts, he couldn’t even sleep on the top bunk bed he was too scared. He had lost his dignity and was now fearful of something he used to loved and look forward to every day. Until one day he decided to climb up and see the birds he was scared until he reached the top and his fear had escaped his body and he was a free soul again. But one day he hatched out of his egg and flew, he flew like a bird. This story and message remind of a time I was scared to go into the water because there were sharks and I thought that fish would bite, until a little bit of help from my sister and me waiting to go play ith here I went in, and ever since loved the water. This book is written for all ages and spreads a strong message and overall I really recommend the book.

The Noisy Paint Box: The Colours and sounds of Kandinsky abstracts is a very meaningful story written by Barb Rosenstock and illustrated by Mary Grandpre. The story starts of with a young boy named Kandinsky who loved paint and express his feeling with painting. He was always getting bored of just the regular painting beautiful women and trees etc. So one day he decided to talk to his friends about it and come together to figure out a way to create a piece of art he wanted to show the world how to express himself in his ar and be able to show, other people. So one day he all of a sudden woke up and had an idea and created a beautiful piece of art people could see and understand his feeling. This reminds me of when I was younger in preschool and we created a piece of art and put it in a fire oven and it went hard and it was a piece of art. Overall this story is for ages 5-10 and shares a very important message about creativity and a very meaningful story.

There is a very meaningful complicated story that is illustrated and written by Marie Louise Fitzpatrick. The story There starts off with a curious young boy leaving his childhood in the past and moving there and seeing how long it takes to get there and how it’s gonna feel. This reminds me of my few memories of what I remember when I was a young boy the different thing and places I went to and did. The young are also always thinking about what its gonna be like when he is older and how he will mature and become a different person. He wonders if he is going to be as tall as a building or going to speak a different colour or speak a different language. The overall message behind the story is very complicated but I think it is about making your future and planning and estimating what your future will be like. This book is written for ages 5-10 because it’s about a young boy imagining things and that is what young kids do. Overall it is a very meaningful story and I really enjoyed it.

Wangari’s Trees Of Peace

Wangari’s Trees Of Peace” is a children’s book based on a true story in Africa written and illustrated by Jeanette Winter. The story starts in Africa when a girl named Wangari got a scholarship and left her family to take on the opportunity. When Wangari returns to Kenya where her family lives, she noticed that there are no green trees left and decided to gather up other women and start replanting them. Soon Kenya was filled with green trees, but other people were trying to cut them down but Wangari stood up and wouldn’t let them cut it down. My first connection was when I was watching a movie and it was based in central new york a bunch of animals lived in a tree and people were trying to cut it down and they did everything in their power to stop them. My second connection was when I planted a bunch of apple and pear trees in my backyard. My final connection was when I was reading a book and it was based on deforestation and how people are destroying the land, it reminded me of the story and how people are cutting down trees, thinking they are not harming the environment. When really thousand of animals lose their homes. Overall all this book shares an important message and recommends it for all readers.

The Fantastic Undersea Life Of Jacques Cousteau

The Fantastic Undersea Life Of Jacques Cousteau is an important book and story about marine life written and illustrated by Dan Yaccarino. This story starts off with a young boy Jacques who loves the water and ocean and building gadgets, one day his friend gave him goggles and that is what changed everything for the young boy. I remember when I was young I always wanted goggles. Because when  I was swimming and I would open my eyes in the water they would hurt and it would be blurry so I wanted to be able to see clear and my eyes not hurt and the ocean. Then one-day Jacques friend created a device would allow you to breathe underwater for certain time periods, which was amazing. This reminds me of a book I read when a boy went scuba diving and explored a series of caves and saw nurse sharks. As Jacques grew older he bought a boat and travelled the ocean and created the first underwater movie. Later he created a two-person device that you could travel 250 meters down in the water, then he expanded and built a 1 person device that could go 500 meters. Jacques travelled the Arctic seeing all sorts of animals, which reminds of the current event global warming gong around and how life in Antarctica is dying. As years passed he noticed the ocean was becoming polluted and decided to make a change and start teaching people about the ocean. He later died an unnoticing eath, Jaques in his lifetime wrote 50 books and 2 encyclopedia and many articles. Overall this book is written for all ages and shares a strong message about the ocean.

Enemy Pie

Enemy Pie is a  very meaningful story written by Derek Munson and illustrated by Calahan King. This story starts at the end of his eventful summer when he built a tree house in his backyard. I can connect to building a tree house because a few years ago at my grandparents house me and my cousins decided to build a huge tree house that was two stories tall. But one day Jeremy Ross moved it the neighbourhood and the boy hated him he was his worst enemy, first on his enemy list. The boy sought his father’s advice and asked for help on how to deal with his enemy. His father said there is one way to get rid of your enemy but you have to spend a whole day with him, so he did. During that day the two boys had lots of fun swimming, playing on a trampoline, which reminds me of a video I saw on social media of a guy and his friends doing multiple crazy flips at a time. As the day went by they decided to go up to his tree house and ass they were climbing up the boy had to get up quick to hide his enemy list with Jeremy name on it. Soon it was time for dinner and them two boys were hungry his dad made the enemy pie wich the young boy that was made to get rid of his enemy, Jeremy Ross. And before Jeremy went in to eat it the boy said it was poisonous and nit to eat it, but then Jeremy said your dad already ate half of it think it’s fine and the boys ate the cake and had a great night. Jeremy invites the boy over in the morning to his trampoline to teach him how to do flips. That reminds me of a time when I was reading Diary Of A Whimpy kid and one of the boys were invited to come over and learn how to do flips. Overall this story is great and written for all ages, and overall shares a very meaningful important message everyone can take out of it.

Kindness #5

On Feb 24 I and my Sebastion G went to 711 to get some snacks and food when we arrived Seb G went to get his wallet when he realized he forgot so instead of walking back to his house I paid for his snacks. He thanked me and said I’ll pay you back I said “it’s on me don’t worry.” This made me feel good especially because I was doing something nice for a friend.

Kindness #4

On Feb 26 My parents went out for the night and the house was really messy, so I decided to vacuum the house clean the house and do the dishes. This act of kindness made me feel good because instead of my parents coming home to a mess and having to clean it up when they are tired I decided to clean up the house. The house wasn’t messy because I and my sister made a mess it was everyone, so what I’m saying is that I didn’t make a mess and clean after myself. When my parents got home they were really impressed and thanked me and they didn’t know that I had the capability to do such a good job cleaning.

Kindness #4

The past two weeks I have been voluntarily doing my sisters chores. I have unloaded the dishes, then load them, unload and organize the laundry and every  Monday morning in the cold I take the garbage. This act of kindness made me feel good because I felt that I was helping someone out. My sister was very surprised and happy, she thanked me and said instead of wasting time on chores she can get school work done. I chose that act of kindness because is aw that my sister was sitting up late to do homework and waking up tired so I thought doing the dishes she wouldn’t have to stay up late for homework.
